Amy Aucoin, DMA
Dr. Amy Aucoin earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts in choral conducting from Louisiana State University. She holds a Master of Music in choral conducting from the University of Mississippi and Bachelor of Arts in vocal music from Nicholls State University.
Dr. Aucoin’s most recent teaching position was choir director for both Santa Fe High School and Junior High in Santa Fe, Texas. Prior to that she was an Associate Professor of Music at Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky for eight years where she taught courses in choral methods, voice methods, music education, and aural skills and conducted the University Chorale and Murray Choral Society. In addition to her faculty position at Murray State University, she was the conductor of the Paducah Symphony Youth Chorus in Paducah, Kentucky. Before beginning her graduate studies, Dr. Aucoin directed high school and junior high choral music programs in the Terrebonne and Lafourche Parish public schools in southeastern Louisiana for five years.
Dr. Aucoin frequently serves as a clinician and adjudicator for choral festivals and presenter for professional conferences. She currently resides in Kenner.
